María del Mar Solórzano

María del Mar Solórzano González has devoted her professional life to legal issues involving the environment and natural resources. This has given her extensive experience in matters of wildlife, biosecurity, water, federal land-maritime zone, forestry, etc. She serves as a counselor in administrative litigation and assists our clients during clean industry, nonindustrial (tourism) environmental compliance and environmental excellence certification processes under the Voluntary Environmental Audit Programs sponsored by PROFEPA.

María del Mar obtained a law degree from Centro Universitario México, División de Estudios Superiores (2002), with the thesis “Legal Regulation of Genetically Modified Organisms.” She obtained a Diploma in the Legal Regime of National Water organized by the Barra Mexicana de Abogados in coordination with the National Water Commission (2004); a Diploma in Environmental Law from the University Alliant and the Centro de Estudios Jurídicos y Ambientales (2005) and a Diploma in Business by the Canadian College in Vancouver, Canada (2007). She also concluded her Master Degree Program in Environmental Consulting and Auditing jointly offered by the Iberoamericana Foundation and the University of Leon, Spain, currently in process of obtaining her certification. She is now studying a Master Degree in Climate Change, offered by Universidad Europea Miguel de Cervantes. Before joining the Firm, she worked in Ecoeficienca Ambiental in the area of voluntary environmental auditing and legislative analysis: Prior to that, she worked in PROFEPA in the General Directions of Voluntary Environmental Audits; Wildlife, as well as of and Ports, Airports and Borders. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
